The Big Dipper fly fishing net is the perfect guide net, as well as a wonderful boat net. It is designed to catch larger fish on the ground or out of any type of watercraft. Perfect for the boat, kayak fishing, or places with jetties, cliffs, or any other high points. Handcrafted with a larger net and longer handle, this net is strong enough to manage the longest, wiliest of fish.
Add a note at checkout if you want a deep net bag no additional cost. Add a note if you are using this in salt water. I have a special salt water finish I will apply.
Customization: Wayward offers over 200 different custom fly fishing net options and our builder will let you see what the different wood species will look like together. Once you have the species selected, we will handcraft a wood landing net just for you! If at any time you are unhappy with using the site, you can call us and we’ll take the order over the phone.

The Wayward Landing Net is handcrafted in the USA! We believe that the best fly fishing nets are made with traditional craftsmanship and local materials (we can acquire exotic species if that is your preference) and Wayward is proud to produce handcrafted wood landing nets right here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
We went through 4 or 5 different shapes before we settled on what we find to be a great balance of grip and comfort. Our nets are handcrafted with a teardrop shape so that the end of the hoop is large enough to pull in any catch, while the holes of the fish safe rubber net bags are small to avoid losing a smaller catch.
We spend a lot of time picking beautifully grained wood from central Pennsylvania. It is important to stay close by so that we can have a hand in not only picking the most beautiful wood, but also in processing it down correctly. Also, staying local is akin to staying eco friendly.

The Big Dipper is the perfect guide net and great to have on your boat. Built for the river or the ocean, constructing the Big Dipper with multiple types of wood is essential for a lighter weight that won’t drag you down, while infusing enough strength to wrangle the fattest and strongest fish. A silicone net with smaller holes is used to protect and hold any size fish. You may choose a shallow or deep bag at checkout for no additional cost. Deeper bags do have larger holes.
